The Locker & Loft is a slightly-hidden restaurant with a distillery-feel, that was born out of desire to have a modern cocktail bar that is priced reasonably. Its motto? ''Making cocktails accessible and fun!'' And it has managed to do that, with many folks passing thru its locker to pick from its list of specialty cocktails.
The emphasis is on incorporating fresh local herbs, spices and fruits into the drinks. Examples are a twist of the kat chai shin mui (with gin and Midori), fresh jackfruit milkshakes, santan and pandan in certain cocktails, and mangosteen liqueur. Its current best-seller is Kelapa Rock, a simple mix of chilled fresh coconut water and vodka.
Locker & Loft's food also has a similar focus, with an obvious fusion slant. The outlet has a full dining menu, which is a first for a cocktail joint. Items include grilled watermelon salad, mutton varuval quesadilla, char siew pork ribs, and kesum leaf pasta. And on the first Sunday of every month, the Sunday BBQ takes place in the afternoon on the balcony, with ribs, chops and more.
The Locker & Loft has a quite stunning 25-foot copper bar, which is among its ID highlights. Music is non-commercial, with funk, soul, jazz and house tunes.
